Well I have finally got my crap together and am going to post my build so far. I have always dreamed of building my own 1600 since I first saw one when I was in High school. This was the car that became my inspiration.

I waited longer than I should have before finally deciding to start looking for my 510.

I found my project on trade me in Napier, and brought it straight away.

Isnt she sexy! :P

I drove down to napier and picked her up. When we got home she was put in the shed, and the project begun

I slowly stripped her down, always knowing what the plans were.
Starting with the bonnet, grill and lights etc.

Then working away until finally removing the old but still running L16.

I slowly worked away removing bits and pieces, labeling everything so I knew where it came from and where it will eventually go back.

After removing the engine and trans I started to remove everything else from the engine bay(including the battery tray). I pulled all the wiring out and traced it back to the fire wall where the loom was removed. I have also removed all the brake lines and am still trying to figure out how I am going to hide them from view, and still conform to the LVV Cert.

Image

I then continued on by removing the guards (snapping a couple of bolts in the process   ) I have yet to fix them.

I was doing all of this while waiting for my parts to arrive from Datsport Oz.

Then after removing the engine crossmember and suspension, my olds sold the farm so I was going to have to put something back in it so I could move it.

I kept disasembling the interior though, for something to do while waiting for the move.

From that to this.

Why that one in particular??

Don't get me wrong SQWRT is a very well presented and finished car and I have checked it out in person and chatted with Kerry about his ride. :poke:
