As you may be able to see in the back ground of the photo of the pulley I also had to get the water inlet from the radiator modified.

I dont know how I managed to do it but I looked at it to see where I could cut and shut it, and managed to cut it in the right place. With a little work on the bench sander the two ends matched up almost perfectly. :dance2:

I then had to get a boss turned up and threaded for the water line to the turbo.

Then I only had to spend about an hour rebending & twisting the factory water line to be able to bolt up in the new location.

Yea I suppose I should get off my ass and give a bit of an update.

After sorting out the water inlet and water lines for the turbo I fitted the engine (again) and mounted up the intercooler and worked out how I was going to run the piping.

Image

then had to make sure that I could clear the radiator.

Image

Filled in all the gaps and wahla!

Image

Now that I had both sides made up it was time to work on the fuel tank.
I purchased an R31 skyline fuel tank complete with cradle (which I found to be useless and ended up buying an R33 fuel pump cradle from the wreckers). I then cut the approprite bits out of the R31 tank and cut a corrisponding hole in my 1600 tank.

Image
Image

Then welded on new fuel line brackets bent up new lines and mounted on tank.

I then got sick of crawling under my car all the time and decided ot make myself a Rotissire.

I did some reasearch on the internet and formulated a bit of a plan. :baseballbat:

Used my skills as a quantity surveyor to work out how much steel I would need and ordered it. :violin:

I received the steel and got to work cutting it to length.

Image

Tacked it all together
Image

Clamped everything square and straight before welding.

Image

Oh yea, I capped the ends of it all too.

Image
All welded together.
Image

Pivot boss and slide all welded.

Image

Then I cleaned it all up and painted it.
