Hi all,

Sadly I have come to realise that restoring our old family wagon just aint going to happen in my hands. I wanted to originally but my heart just isn't really into it plus I have plenty more car and bike stuff that's keeping me busy. I have kept it at ours and put the word out locally that it is up for grabs however its now time to put it up here. I really do hope that via this forum with its crazy collection of Datsun lovers we can find a good home for our little wag :-)

My main thing is.. I don't want to see this car get split. It has to go to someone who will restore it. I don't care if its bought for profit down the line so long as it ends up back on the road!!! ;) It means a lot to me and my parents that it remains complete and someday returns to life on the road.

I am happy to take on some of the body work repairs ie the major rust, at a reasonable rate if that work is out of the range of a prospective buyers skill set. But I really do think that given the low value of Datsuns (well compared to Toymotors, Mazdas, fords etc that is) I reckon this car would be an ideal chance for someone to learn some restoration skills and do it themselves. All the required repairs needed are pretty easy in that once done they can be finished off neatly and the overall car could come up sweet. The great thing with with this car is that the roof is really straight! Buckled rusty roofs are probably the hardest thing to get right without either very good experience or load of horrible filler.

As far a cheap project car goes I believe its a really good solid base. Please see the thread link posted below for more details/photos on exactly where all the rust is.

The car is mainly complete but for the lack of a motor. The gearbox is in place. The rego is dead but with the historical photos we have you should have no worries getting it re-vinned with the existing black and silver plates :-) I would like $400 as is. We are near Marahau, Tasman.

I'll post up a couple of photos here so you know which car it is but for a whole load more details of its history and photos you can read my thread here...
