Quick update and a request...

Seats all sorted and in. A few bits of 75mm angle steel offcut from a local engineers and some well placed mounting holes and sorted. Had to massage a few things so the adjustment sliders locked in place properly. The first time I drove it after putting them back, the seat slid forward under braking and I almost broke my nose with my knee!! All up, my WOF man was happy with result... And I reckon the creamy white goes well with the green... Photos soon.

Finally in the process of my A15 and 60a install yeewwww! A false start when the first motor turned out to be a small port head as I think it was a super early version...but now all go with an oval port motor that's meant to be strong. Will get it in and sorted first prior to tickling it up.

One thing I really need though is a shifter bush kit... The pivot plastic bush is sweet, but the pin bushes are well rooted/ non existent.

Is there a kit readily available? Anyone has experience with a workaround with washers etc?? Nissan have them??

Cheers

BNT mate...
N12 pulsar/Sentra I think...
Part number: SH50717

Under a hundred bucks easy for a pair depending on your discount :)

I kept the tab on the strut and used factory clips on that and the chassis mount. Clips needed slight grind internally to semi circular pattern, rather than star. You'll see.

Lines say 20-30mm too long being picky...but photos show they're not too bad eh

I was looking into sourcing some for my old 120y and found you could still get them through Nissan.

Part numbers FYI

Two plastic bushes that slip in to each side of the gear lever pivot
32855-H1010

Lower bush at end of lever
32861-H7301

Interchangeable to a bunch of Nissans and dattos, hence plenty in NZ.
Now to see how long the 2 plastic bushes last!

finally found the time to drop the A15 into the coupe this arvo...
A15 into a 1972 coupe, with standard cross member.

was a bit of a mission getting everything in the right place. Engine mounts ended up being a pain. I had some plates made up, 6mm plate, 75x50 as per the 1200 wiki - 35mm offset etc.

Used the right hand mount of the original 1200 on the left hand side of the A15 and tried a mount that came with the motor (was mounted with a Ute xmember I believe). left hand mount looked pretty good, right hand mount didnt seem right and cant really work with the mechanical fuel pump.

decided to take all the mounts of and focus on getting the gearbox mounted in the right spot.
this was relatively straight forward. some fine tuning will required of the sump plug that was used for the reverse switch filler as it's super close to the gbox mounting point. Will probably file down and use some sort of rubber isolator on the head.

end result...not particularly happy. will start the hunt for a Ute cross member, so please sing out if ya have one around!

not sure what the go is with the r/h side mount...again, sing out if there is a fix for that using the standard xmember.
I'd rather keen the mech fuel pump to keep the transplant on the down low...an electric fuel pump will just raise the attention of my friendly wof man.

If I can't find a ute cross member, I might also explore getting some custom mounts made up that drop the motor down and take it back the 35mm - I've heard the extractors can be close to the firewall.

fun times!

This is what datsun 1200 said

Obtain a duplicate late RH bracket, and then fit it to the LH side. Old A12 brackets won't fit, but new A12/A14/A15 brackets will:

You stated you used the original (early) a12 mount? Could be an issue.

Also if you slot the engine mount holes on the oil pump side you should get the clearance for the oil pump.

Finally you need to center your engine looking at how your new mounting plates are off center in the same direction.

Just my 2c That's all. Hopefully some of it helps.

I have a coupe cross member thats been modified for a A15, im not sure what mounts to suit, but how has holes that seem in the same place as the ute crossmember i bought, no realising the coupe one had already been modified at some stage. Think my cars had a 5 speed too as it has a big dent where the reverse switch would go, but havent even had a engine or box near it yet.
