Well im stoked. cert went real well only a few things to do. the only issue is the brakes. i spent all weekend bleeding them, even replaced the master cylinder and they are still spongy. I think ill get the system vacuum bled. also i think its to do with the caliper pistons retracting too far as the calipers are brand new. otherwise its just a couple of bolts to swap out and a P-clip to hold the clutch line. so relieved.
You wouldn't have that problem with a V8!!!!

Has your booster been apart at all or reconned? Just another thing to look at.

Good job on the short list. Your master cylinder might be too small as well, you're running 4 pots on the front now?

Thanks guys, the booster is leaking so ill get that rebuilt or replaced but that doesnt really explain why the brakes take so long to come on. The master is more than enough being 15/16" so that shouldnt be a problem. ill just keep working at it hopefully i crack the issue soon then ill be eyeing up a datsun cruise to meet up with you all again since its been so long!!!
You wouldn't have that problem with a V8!!!!

Had a similar problem with mine which was booster got it reconned at safe r brakes which wasn't too expensive.

Give Shane a call at Power Stop Brakes in Middleton.

He used to be the general manager at Safe R Brakes and went out on his own. Bloody good bsstard and knows his stuff.

Sorted the brakes thanks guys. turned out to be the caliper pistons like i thought so i just took the pads out, pumped the brake peddle then moved the pistons back just enough to get the pads in and bingo its sorted, nice and firm just a little worried as the pads wear they might go spongy again at which point i might need to put some kind of different check valve in the system. Oh and Cheers to Vaughan for bringing his vacuum bleeder over even though i didnt need it. Ill ring Donn again tomorrow to book in for what will hopefully be the final time.

This is a couple of things ive had to do for cert. first was the brackets holding the clutch line rigid so it wont crack and then the flares which arnt much but i think they look good (Not too much of an eye sore)
