Silvia UJ Qs

Post by Dattochriswagon »

Hi everyone im in a bit of confusion at the moment over my Driveshaft.
Looking at getting a longer one fabricated.
So far ive got s13 silvia gearbox splane and yoke end and a hilux yoke and shaft that is to short.
The question i have is that ive heard that silvia ujs are irrepairable so if i was to get my friveshaft made up with my silvia bit on the gearbox end and the hilux bit on the other end and my silvia uj failed i would have to get it cut off and a another silvia spline and yoke welded on wher i could have had the uj replaced.
Does that make any sense?
If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

hey fellas in my 98 sr gearbox i used a datsun 1600 yoc into gearbox cant remember if it is repairable though but my point is you may find something from old dattos that is repairable ....the down fall with the non repairable yocs is you cant pump them full off grease and they get dry and wear faster

So you're saying the standard 510 input yolk goes into an SR gearbox?

thats handy to know! I wonder if they use the same spline as the Ca18's. The 510 tail shaft is hell spindly. The end would fall inside the tail shaft tube of a 310 tail shaft though.
