Hey, I'm kind of new here but a few months ago I acquired a 1981 280zx. When I was down at Firestone on Langdons Road this really friendly guy, I'm sorry I'm terrible with names, pointed me in the direction of this forum and told me about the Akaroa cruise. Between work and an engine that's consuming water and needs it's head-gasket redoing I don't think I'll make it to Akaroa but I will come down to Halswell to say hi and introduce myself properly. Looking forward to it.

Hey mate,
That would have been Chris. He's a GC.
Please do come down and say hi. There's probably a peron or two here who has the experience with the L6 engine that may be able to help you with your dilemma.
I'll be the guy making to pre cruise speach.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Cool cool, it'd be good to get some advice on the L28. Chris told me about DJZ with his rb26 and another guy with either a VG or a VQ who I'd be pretty keen to talk to as well.

Sad to say, but won't be making it to this years Akaroa cruise either (unless someone has a cheap registered, warranted and running Datsun for sale hehe). Car won't be ready in time, but will pop down and catch up before you guys all depart and drop off some items for delivery. Look forward to the post AGM dinner however :)

Maybe you and Ruth could Get a ride with somebody Nick?
It's more fun when you're driving your own car, but there's no shame in being a passenger.

Oh the shame! Will see how I'm feeling at the time, bit depressing not driving your own car :P For now I have backup plans and will probably be spending some time on the 1200 to pass the time :)

Catch up tomorrow evening at dinner :D
