That is what I thought, but not one but a couple datsuners have told me the same thing abiut the 15/16ths being hard on the pedal.

Perhaps it is the kind of booster we have. I will take a close up photo of the booster to see if it is same as in 180Bs over there.

Maybe they have skinny girl legs and can't hack a man's brake pedal?

I hope that was not the reason. I do not think so, one of my buddies is a tall guy, Desert Strom vet, he does not fit the girly description. Perhaps it is the size of the brake lines. Perhaps the proportioning valve. Might be a difference between the ZX paraphenalia and the 610s.

My original plan was the 15/16ths ZX Master cylinder.
I previously got a ZX master cylinder that would not seat on the brake booster. I will check it next time I am working at my car ( car is at my buddy's shop, not that close, I go work on the car as posible.)

I am sure that ZX is a 15/16ths. That is what ZXs used from 79 onwards. I will triple check the situation, if it does not fit in, I will use this 7/8ths I just got in the mail.

If the 15/16ths works , I will use it. The 7/8ths will work fine with any of my other Datsuns. If it does not fit, the 7/8ths will do.

I've driven a 510 with 15/16 and no booster, and the pedal was too heavy. Although I've not driven one with a booster, I know a few guys who've rolled with them, and I don't recall hearing any complaints about pedal weight.

Howzt.

Got a few pics of the parts in question. Been working on my "B"

Here a couple booster closeups.

15/16ths "ZX" brake master cylinder:

Both cylinders next to each other:

The bleeding nipples on the 15/16ths are very close to the strut tower. I will install the master cylinder this week. replacing brake lines as well.

Howzt.

I am such a dork! Just posted on a fellow 180B er telling him I would open a thread for my ride and here I got one ! I totally forgot. When my old computer went crazy, with viruses, I lost it, got to throw it away, loosing vital info and my favorites.

Well, I am back ! I will be away for 2 mos, going overseas but I will be back early March.

I got news. My 710 ( 160J w/o the IRS ) has a tired L18. The L20B is in top shape ( 180B's L20B ), so the L20B is going into the 710 ( with all the goodies, 5 speed gearbox, Canon manifold, Weber 38 DGES, Extractors...) and the 610/180B is getting an SR20. I was even toying with the idea of an RB 6 cyl motor.

A friend of mine has an RB motor and gear box laying in his shop. Once the L20B is out, we will take measurements and decide.

When I come back from this 2 month trip, I will get an update.

I am glad I found my way back. You guys do enjoy Datsuns.

Happy New Year !

Did you end up using the 7/8 cylinder?? Did it bolt straight to up your 610 booster?? I have a 7/8 mc off a 720 ute but it doesnt quite fit the 610 booster. Keep the updates coming!
