Good thing someone else won the hard luck trophy.

Just past hammer and overtaking a van last night, flicked up a stone into my not laminated windscreen, amazingly at 70mph it didn't fly into our faces.

Pulled over. Rang insurance. 2hr minimum wait time.
Swann were absolutely useless, I was told if I'm going to drive slowly towards town to meet the tow truck en route to save time for them then they won't send anyone.
I told them to get fucked.

Smashed in the windscreen after disconnecting heater vent tubes, wiped off bonnet/seats etc and removed stainless trim and rubber seal.

Ran it straight.

Did about 85km with every window down/open so rear screen didn't meet the same fate. Thank God it wasn't raining but FUCK it was cold.

Then my lights blew after dropping Jeremy off, and a silver car at dusk is very invisible to people it seems.
This is probably just a fuse but my icicle fingers would not have had the dexterity to swap one out.

THEN .....Pulled in to liquor store so I could drown my sorrows apon my return home, go to start car and i had nothing. At all.

After much swearing and cursing and cold fingers playing with starter motor wiring and battery feed it decided it would have ignition again.

Oh! and did i mention the exhaust destroying chunks of road and hitting the rear spring eye at anything below 3000rpm? ferry was a spectacle unloading. gained 15mm road clearance over the trip shaving down the exhaust flange.

But on a positive note, me and jeremy (aside from the shitty ride quality) had an awesome weekend, big thanks to everyone who was involved with the organization of the whole weekend. had heaps of fun even if horipito sliced me open a few times. a bunch of epic cars and peopple

special mentions to anthony and angela for the couch to crash on the thursday night in blenheim (and Ruger and Pippy!!!), and the neighbor where we hired a house in ohakune for letting me walk their dog stewart.

Fark! Epic finish to the trip for you Luke. Might have to change my screen after seeing that!

Had an awesome weekend. Dogs loved the journey and the mighty A12 ran on the smell of an oily rag.

Like the comments already mentioned, a huge thanks to Tracey and the crew for organising such a mint weekend event.

Ange even commented to me earlier "for someone who knows or cares little about cars, I had an awesome time hanging with your mates". Now I also have extra excuses to spent more on my datto :burnout:

wow Luke ,that sucks, should have rung me, I do have a car trailer, although with your low it may have been interesting getting it on.

as an aside I wonder if we need to add an emergency contact numbers thread where people around the country can add there contact details and location , to give support to broken down members.

The emergency contact tread would be ideal!
