Clutch noise grrrr

Post by MONTY »

Ok I've think I've found another wee gremlin of me putting this back together last time,

Got to put the clutch in and about full throw something starts ticking I wonder if I've put the clutch plate in the wrong way and the fingers are hitting the centre near full throw??

Any thoughts lads?

Usually if the clutch plate was in backwards the springs and other bits would hit on the flywheel bolts. Did you replace the bearing?

Yeah that's what I thought.I did years ago it would've done less than 100k on it tho. It sound worse than a dud bearing, but def not ruling it out

Had this happen on the Y - was incorrect master cylinder to slave ratio (different size / stroke master from factory) and it was pushing the clutch so far it was trying to drive again (folding it inside out).

Maybe this?

Removed the gear box tonight, and Everything looks ok however it seems the clutch fork wasn't sitting in its clips properly, will have to be careful of this when I put it back inImageImageImage

Ok so found the problem, I replaced the slave cylinder bolts with nice cap screws but they were too long, and when the clutch was pressed in the pressure plate would lift and hit one of the bolts.
