FS: 1978 120Y Sedan, rusty

Post by atchernv »

After 3 years of ownership the rust has caught up with her and its time for me to let her go. The body has seen better days but mechanically she is a surprisingly reliable runner, uses a bit of oil on long trips but apart from that has caused me no other drama on cross-country trips (Well-Auk-Well & Wel-Chch-Well)

Trademe auction is here;

Have a flick through http://nzdatsun.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2645 for more history

Note the odometer only has 5 digits, unsure how many times its been around the clock my guess is 3 or 4.

Current rego (can put on hold once sold if required) but warrant has expired. In need of rust repair to be warrantable again so would be better suited as a "project".

Pick up "as is", Wellington, will definitely drive under its own power but as the warrant is expired might not be a good idea to drive very far.. I've tried to cover as much as I am aware of in the lists below but do not claim they are exhaustive.

There's bits of rust all over the place but the spots effecting the warrant are;
Both sills
Left rear corner of roof
Body crossmember under radiator
Small hole in rear muffler

Apart from that, the good:
Alarm + immobiliser
13" by 6" Wildcat rims with locknuts
Lowered by Mag n Turbo
Spare tyre and tools
Complete grille, no cracks
Headlight mesh
Bullet wing mirrors
New alternator
New battery
New front indicator lenses
Spare radiator
Spare set of back seats
Spare crossmember
Outside window chrome trim just needs attaching

The bad:
Lots of little bits of rust
Lots of rust in bottom of doors
Some panels slightly misaligned
Bonnet catches on scuttle panel
Seals are old
Light surfaces scratches on windows
Door cards slightly detached
Seats are a bit tattered
Wing mirrors dont really point in the right direction
Quarter panel badges sit higher than they should
Datsun-less
