2011 NZ Datsun Nationals. Sunday 23rd October.

Post by Bartman »

This years NZ Datsun Club nationals is going to be held on sunday the 23rd of October.

Meet:
Halswell bowling club car park, Halswell Rd Christchurch. 10am.
Basic meet and greet. And pre cruise breifing.
Gold coin donation per car. All occupants of cars will be given a raffle ticket for the spot prize draw.

Depart:
11am. (Approx, depending on straglers)

The cruise will make it's first stop somewhere along the way to meet up with any people who are travelling up from down south. Traditionally we've stopped at little river. However this event has now become so large that this isn't really practical any longer. Another spot will have to be chosen, and this thread will be updated.

Next stop is the Hill Top Tavern for a refreshments break.

Following this, The cruise will be pressing on toward the Akaroa township.
We're going to be parking up on the Akaroa Recreation area for a show and shine.
The club will be having a sausage sizzle. $2 each. We're going to use heller's sausages, none of that mad butcher shit for our BBQ! Plus onions and tuimato/Watties sauce.
After lunch, we'll have voting for the club awards.
Catagories are,
People's choice- People can vote for the Car they like best
Most dedicated- People can vote for the person they think has been the most dedicated. Travelled the farthest, done the most work on their car to be on the cruise etc (It's up to you guys)
Most improved- Attendee's can vote for the car which has improved the most. (Car must have attended the Akaroa cruise before to qualify)
Hard luck- Kind of like a booby prize trophy for someone who breaks down. So if the vehicle you're in breaks down, or you need to stop and help out a mate along the way, be sure to nominate them for this award!

Once we're done in Akaroa (depending on what time people feel like heading away) The cruise will leave Akaroa, and take Long Bay Road (first right out of Akaroa) up to the Akaroa summit road. From there we drive back to the hill top tavern for the drawing of the spot prizes, and the prizegiving for the awards. Ticket holders must be present to claim spot prizes. or prize will be redrawn.

Afterparty
A couple of members have kindly offered to host post cruise drinks at their house.
The location will be announced on the day. (It's in the Mairehau)

More info will be added as it comes to hand.

Any pesons from the north island Who are planning to drive down, check the discussion here http://www.nzdatsun.com/forums/viewtopi ... =12&t=2742" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Be sure to book your ferry crossingf sooner rather than later. The clock is ticking!
Also, and out of towners who require acommadation, reply here also. Hopefully there should be plenty of couches/floor space to roll out a sleeping bag.

Sign me up Bart. Working hard to get my 1200 ready to roll in time. Paint will be patchy and less than desirable, but engine should be purring like a kitten :-P I do ask however that if anyone has a manifold that would suit my D2 Coby headers and Dellorto's (or knows of some I could source) for sweet price, that would be fab! Was gonna run new headers and standard carb to run in the engine, but D2's don't seem to fit, and side draught manifold I have is modified and doesn't just bolt on! Grr lol
