Ordering parts from Nismo America

Post by cheese910 »

Has anyone ordered parts form nismo America before.

I've been looking at a few parts lately but im wondering what would be the best (cheapest ) option of ordering some.

Esp. since the exchange rate is so excellent at the moment.

I've seen the parts on sites such as nissanraceshop.com and nismoparts.com but im thinking surely there would be a way to cut out the middle man? Surely these websites have a good mark up.

Can you just stroll into a nissan dealer in the US and order nismo american parts?

I might get my cousin to do so if thats going to be the cheapest option.

Or even do you think cockrams could get nismo amarican parts?

What are peoples thoughts/ opinions?

At the end of the day it all comes from Nismo in Japan.

If you buy from Nismo USA you will get parts from Japan with freight costs to US as well as their mark up
If you buy from a NZ dealer you will get parts from Japan with freight costs to NZ as well as their mark up

With exchange rate, Nismo US is probably best although they are still going to be an agent for Nismo Japan so the only way to cut any middle man is through Japan.

I was under the impression that nismo america was a different thing than normal nismo, I thought that they did bre parts and other american originated nissan parts. Like the KA performance parts because no where else has so many ka engines that they want to zoop up.

I have used courtesyparts.com for my Z32 and recommend them. You do not pay extra for shipping from to Japan to US, its alot cheaper to buy Nissan stuff from America than here because the Nissan dealerships write their own prices and mark them up to hell. I can get a full EFI harness for my Z32 for 400 US and over here they want $3500 for the exact same thing... go figure

cheers, i have heard they are good elsewhere aswell

Reading up more on nissan motorsport parts, you can't order parts directly from them, they only sell to dealers etc so the best thing to do seems to be to look around for the best price and shipping.

here is the catalog :)
