Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan

Post by braasmonkey »

Hey all,

My names Nick, but you can call me Braasy (yes, it is spelled correctly - is based on my last name, 'Braas', which is Dutch).

I am new to the Datsun scene and have recently purchased a straight 1200 4 door sedan (Deluxe?) to sink my teeth and money into.

Am looking to keep the vehicle pretty stock standard for now. Currently, the 1200 is stock standard with a little bit of surface rust thrown in. It has a set of SSS mags on it, a newer A12 engine and a factory 4 speed box. It appears to have been repainted at some stage. I intend on plugging in an A15 (twin side-draft Dellorto carbs already purchased) and a matching 5 speed gearbox for a bit of extra up and go. Once happy with the running of the vehicle, will strip it down, get rid of any rust, repaint, and then put it all back together again.

Some original pictures are as follows for any interested (who haven't seen the vehicle yet):

Only things done so far have been very minor (leads, filters, oil, rubbers/boots, plugs, contacts, wheel nuts etc) but will update with any major changes and images to match. Appears the starter motor was replaced semi-recently as it can just go and go and go.

Sing out with any questions, queries or suggestions as I am quite open to them. Cheers.

Yup, that off white/stucco look is pretty hot isn't it  Will probably be looking for something else that is cool and hasn't been done time and time again. Was settled on the gun metal grey look but it appears a few people have already taken this route. Back to the drawing board...
