You can blame Pip for that, she loves facebook.

Yes, the car has today passed re compliance!
It is now fully legitimate on the road.
Also scored a set of 4 pot skyline brakes for $80!

Hi Dan

As discussed on phone today about coil over sleeves

Image

As you can see there, the Coil over sleeve sits on a ring so its not actually welded to the strut, and the machined tube can be put underneath or on top to let you decide where the springs need to go. The gland nut tightens up on the whole assembly so the whole tube doesn't spin when you try and adjust the height. if you still have those Koni Gland nuts i gave you they overhang to create a lip that presses down on the whole lot.

I also have the top hats for you, already machined to suit Z31 shocks, and here is the link to cheap springs http://www.summitracing.com/search/depa ... ord=spring" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm keen on getting a set of rear springs so if you want to go halves on shipping that would be awesome.

Link is for 275lb springs, which should be perfect for the 140J, For reference the heavy as hell Z RUNS 330 LB springs, and the 275's on the front of Gregs 610 feel perfect too.

Cheers James, I will look into it.
Also scored a RB25DET fuel pump today....anyone got an old fuel tank that this would fit in so we can get the thing the cradle attaches to?

Pips datto project - 1973 Datsun 140J sedan

Post by Datto_Princess »

Have managed to score some standard plates with 710 on them whoop

We have been looking through hub options and have some s12 hubs on the way. Cheers Vege????. These hubs should hopefully sort out the offset issues with the brake calipers.

We have brought an electric power steering column from a Suzuki Wagon R, lol, with electric power steer it will be able to be switched on and off at will. Which means we can switch it off for the hill roads and have awesome road feed back and switch it back for cruisy open road and town driving ????. Should be a relatively simple install with a few alteration to the steering column and ECU

Starting to look into the same front suspension that dan1200sss has just got for his 1600, for the J should be sweet.

In the mean time sorting out some carb issues so we an drive on the southern cruise.

I'm much looking forward to occupying the rear seat of this machine.
I had a mate back in the late 80's who had one. It has no wof, no rego, and no sills. He drove it everywhere. The rear seat was so comfortable. I've never forgotten how it caressed my sore back after an afternoon skateboarding. I've loved these cars ever since.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
