One can never have enough Datsun's, pass one on to each child at an early age, and watch their investment grow !!!
Better than buying a bland generic brand that will never be anything better than a electronic disaster in 40 years time.....if it is actually still around

The mighty 120y will be making a trip from Wairarapa to Auckland on sunday and all places in between. Picking up 5 speed box, and some other bits and bobs. Will be floating around the island if anyone is keen to catch up

Had a Datsun lover come by today, helped me strip my 60a 5 speed, showed me whats what and how things work.

The main input bearing had blown its self up spitting big marbles all through the box, nothing else seems to be damaged however. Bearings all need replacing, then should have a solid box.

Picture of the 5 speed and the dellortos... Datsun power.

Where would i source a 60a rebuild bearing kit? or do i need to individually purchase each bearing?
Am also after some dellorto trumpets if anyone has any...

Few updates on the 120.

5 speed is completely in bits, bearings going in soon. Housing had to be tig'd up and milled out, the input bearing jammed up (the oval balls above), causing the bearing race to spin in the housing. Its eaten about 2-3mm of alloy. After thats done, the box will be ready to go back together! Managed to swap a heap of 1200 parts to get a machinist to do the job.

Replaced lower ball joints, old ones were so had it.
New nolathane bushes in lower control arms to cross member. Didnt realize they were a press fit from new :|

A car 'group' that I made - Wairarapa Oldschools made its debut at the Masterton Motorcomplex Drag strip open day. We are basically a bunch of guys in our region that get together with our old cars as not alot happens in the wairarapa! Few pictures from that

Picked up a heap of parts on Wednesday, a police repo man saw me driving around and there was a bunch of 120y parts at a repo job he had. He saw me up town and gave me is number... that night was off to pick up datto parts! $100 bought me mountains of parts
