You'd be able to get and electronic ignition setup cheap through work, once fitted no more hassle and a whole lot better running.

points are a pain in the arse and always need fiddling with - and fall apart - had that happen in the middle of no where before.

What he said. I converted the Crown to electronic for less than the cost of a set of points and a condenser and it there was a significant improvement, not to mention you never have to adjust anything and ignition modules don't wear/burn out.

I bought this setup off trademe when a guy was clearing them out for $50 a set, you don't need any additional parts.

Oh yeah could be worth a try! Those carbs would be so sweet but with progress going very well on the 180B I need to spend every cent on that! That kit says 4cyl would it fit 6cyl?
