so.. my search is over!!!! Within 2 weeks, I found a Datsun 1200 roadster ute!
Thanks to Bartman who passed on his details and within a couple of days she was viewed and sold.

The guy has brought it for his son to do up about 2 years ago, its been sitting in a shed since, hasn't been turned over/driven the whole time too. Unfortunately, his son is more into nissan skylines and silvias.. what a shame

She is primered up, matty b'd up and on bogan wheels!! (hotwires)
Barely any rust at all! And quite straight! I believe a panelbeater owned her, as I found some paperwork of the WOFs address to him and a business card floating around.

I also found a PAPER CERT from 1997, done by my dad!! I couldn't believe it!! Hilarious
Came with a bucketload of parts, spare diff, spare motor, spare doors, spare seats, brand new front bumper and brand new bonnet!!! All chrome, couple of tyres and just general bits and bobs. Including a "drift" steering wheel, with tags of $145! So comfy and little tho

A12 with twin carbs, goes SO well! First drive just pined! Needs a wheel alignment though. I can't wait to see how good on gas she is, $20 gets half a tank

After having a look underneath, shes got completely BRAND NEW shocks & springs, nothane bushes, tye rod ends, front & rear brakes. Brakes better than my 1996 subby!!! What a score!

Keeping her pretty standard, I would like to get some rims at some point, I probaley wont lower her much more.. Id like to chuck the pit bikes one the back and head down to the waimak etc

The deck is exceptional, no dents !!

Sweet ride Niccy, looks like a win. I run the twin carbs on my 1200, wee bit thirsty around town, but great performance without the Dellorto economy. 39+mpg on the Southern cruise, so great out of town. I'd be happy to look at the carbs if you ever wanted, don't have much experience, but mine seem to be running OK

If you cream it up again, please repaint the engine the factory colour, and redo the airbox in the factory orange too. I love the factory look.

Oh thanks!! I think one is running a bit rough... It seems to idle quite lumpy but if defiantly won't have a lumpy cam..
It came with a spare one too so thats a bonus if one is shot.

I defiantly love the sound! I had a wee giggle to myself about both my datsuns today, they both sound quite different to other z18/a12s I have heard and have hilarious induction noises. Brilliant!

Its defiantly not SSS a12, my brother thought the same but Bart's right

Bart, you will have to show me a picture of what that looks like! I'm defiantly going to spend most of my time this week giving the motor some sprucing up

Thanks!!! I think so too!! She will just be keep quite standard (I have to force myself not to mod it too much!) with sweet wheels
I have a few ideas so far... 12x9 steelies (of course, like that white one!) watanabes (for ultimate pine! but id want to put them on my 510!) or SSR Star Formulas in ideally red to be outrageous with the cream

If anyone could shed some light/pictures on what badges the 1200 utes have, I would hugely appreciate as I have no idea
