I'm with mister Doors.
Check your fuses, I had a crack in the fuse of my 1200, when it played up the alternator light flickered and the gauges read inaccurately. I couldn't see anything wrong with the fuse, the problem was internal, swapping fuses around may help you find it.

Sadly just a couple of short months after being back on the road (was a matter of a new alternator in the end) the rust issue seems to have caught up with me. Failed warrant and a four digit repair quote have got me thinking my time of Datsun ownership might have come to its end :(

It still has a lot of useable bits but most of the body is kinda nasty, and the parts that look okay are likely made of bog.

As much as I dont want to see her go I think its high time to cut my losses :thumbsdown:

I'm trying to gather thoughts on how to move the thing on at the moment and some advice would be handy;
Would it be worthwhile to list on trademe as a "project" car?
Or should I rent storage while I part it out and take what's left to wreckers?
Or take it straight to wreckers?

Sorry to hear man. I rekon you would get the most by listing it on trademe.

I'd be keen to grab a few bits of it if you part it......grill and the rising sun gearknob or the datsunn one if you still have them. Will pay of course

Don't know if this much better than yours, but not too far from you,
and you may be able to get for a bargain, and reshell yours/swap running gear over?

I'd love to get a new shell but I really dont have anywhere to store another car that's not running, and the cost and time of getting everything swapped over..
I've put her on trademe in the end -> http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =630838318
