I have bypassed the factory reg/recterfier by jumping the wires between the White/black ignition wire (from key) to the White/red that goes out to the exciter feild in the internaly reg/rect alternator at the reg/rect plug.

so i need to put a diode in line here? a friend of mine who sold me the alternator has done exactly the same as me (he showed me the wiring in his sss 180b) but has no issues. :?:

the alternator i had fitted has blown already... :fart:
but, i realized why they both blew!

the lower radiator hose that enters the block above it...
...the hose clamp had broken, and subsiquently loosened of.

this is fixed now, and i have another one on the way
(off a v3 sti wrx.. the mounts are the same, and same shaft size, just need to switch the pulleys over...)

now springs, :burnout: what type do i need to look for?
front/rear and what car do they come off...?

Hmm interesting that your friend's one works perfectly. Tbh I can't remember exactly what I did with which wires (I just read it all up on the net and had a go) but I'll have a look next time I'm under the hood of my red car. I do know that I got mine working perfectly except that the charge light stayed on, which is why I soldered a diode in.

Negative camber looks awesome, but it's always a balance between looking good and actually being practically able to drive around. Sub 50 mm ground clearance looks good as well, but some people just won't drive a car as much if it is too much of a pain in the ass. I know I get increased tire wear ($$) running as much negative camber on the rear of my sedan which I'm okay with, but some people wouldn't be.

Compress springs is some times cheaper to do and you get to choose your height, do the shocks at the same time. Im not saying "bone" but that extra 20mm is all it takes. know what em saying yeah?
More pics please.

Good question, ummm I dont know, maybe some stuff. Pictures keep me interested.
Iv had compressed springs on a few things and they seem to work well, but I have also done bushes and shocks around the same time.
