No photos sorry, but I can tell you that you can remove the front cover and adjust the cam timing without removing the sump on an A12. if I had been brave and not been due for a service I wouldn't even have needed to change the oil.
Very happy with the improvements made by advancing the cam, sounds stronger anyway :P
Just loving this car, and the wife even enjoys driving it now, not being Phased when she has to get out of the Commodore and drive the 1200 :burnout:
Just a side note, any doubt about the parentage of my eldest was cleared up tonight when she announced that she wants a Skyline GTR! :burnout: That's my girl

Great outing with the Datsun club at the GrassKhana at the weekend. John made the comment it didn't smoke, I was surprised he commented till my next run, I don't have a rev counter, she just revs!

Its alright Vaughan the A12 utilizes a mechanical rev limiter
(ie when the valves start slapping piston tops you change gear)

Some people post every other day on here, my poor 1200 just gets driven, and I guess neglected a bit.
Here's some picks to show it does get some loving. Now I have a Hoist/pit to work under I thought it was time to give it the 5 speed I had been threatening for so long, Hopefully I'll haave it in and running for the GrassKhana at the Nats.

Anyone recognise the cleaner box?
Anyone got an input shaft or alignment tool I could grab, I can find my L series one but not my A series on.

Is it a multi fit or an L Series one? A series are tiny compared to L Series.
