z18et1200coupe wrote:so an update! i have been working on my 1200 everyday for about 2 weeks and im getting some progress! i will take some photo's tomorro and post them up!
what i've done :
fixed the rust along the right sill (the worst rust)
fixed rust at the back right corner or rear guard, made the rear skirt panel a bit straighter haha
fixed rust under both front guards and undersealed under guards too

now im going to move onto the rust on the other side of the car and once i've done that all the rust will be fixed! then its time for paint prep! im thinking i will paint it orange, my mates girlfriends old man has one of the new falcons in a reeeeaaaal lice orange and i was thinking of stealing that colour!
will upload photo's tomorrow!

also have found out my diff is out of a navara! so i'll be trying to source a lock-rite locker for it!
If its around the 2006 era then its 6sfe probably:
Same colour as mine:

right so here are some pictures! i had some bad rust on both sides under the guards in the same place on each side, i have pointed to where it was in one of the photo's, it is now plated and undersealed!
also i was looking at one of my spare heads today and saw it had a half decent throttle body mounted to the inlet which im stoked about! the throttle body bore is 72mm which is hopefully a decent size haha!
also there are some photo' of where im going to mount the intercooler, being able to keep the grill and bumper unmodified was a must!

gingofthesouth the orange looks awesome! is that the ford falcon orange? do you happen to have the paint code for the colour? thanks heaps! also my diff looks to be out of a late 80's/ early 90's datsun or nissan navara, the nugget is almost as big as a hilux and it had big meaty axels! i've eard you can put the later model D22 navara LSD's into them too!

i have also brought a skyline turbo and hopefully will be getting some rx7 injectors soon, so them with the diffrent throttle body and intercooler will hopefully make it go a bit better! i will try and find a decent airflow meter too, and im trying to find info on the CA18det computer and loom swap!

The paint code is 6FSE5ZA.
Not sure if it is the ford falcon colour but it is def a 2006ish ford colour. I seen it on a Ford Focus ST.

Only problem is all the forums and websites say its that colour, but when sprayed on by two different painters I got the colour I got, which is not the Ford Focus colour. The Ford Focus colour is a darker orange that goes gold. Not a yellowy orange like the one i have.

This may be the falcon colour I have got, not the Focus version. What year falcon were you looking for?
If you are meaning the xr6 turbo Falcon then there is a Blood Orange (paint code: HO)

I would always check with the paint supplier for a sample first or colour chart to check before spraying incase you end up like me with the wrong colour.

oh the falcon i have seen it on is brandnew, so either 2010 or 2009, but its not a turbo model. The orange on the ST Focus's look very nice too!

oh i will do some checking out at a good panel shop sometime when im closer to painting! cheers

have done a bit opf work lately, have primered parts of the car with proper spray gun primer, got my new wheels too! here are pics

also i have a very very wierd running problem! the motor starts and revs up, but only till about 3500 or 400 rmp, and its very slow getting there, its like its not getting enough fuel, and the fuel pressure starts going down slowly when you rev it.
-i changed the regualtor and fuel and it still does it
-i pulled out the injectors and tested them and they squirt but its like they are missing quite a lot, it is very weird! it may just be a plug has come undone somewhere or something but i cant find any!

any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated!
