One of the easiest upgrades for the front, is to swap the front struts out for 910 Bluebird,R30/R31 Skyline or 280ZX struts as these all have bigger and better brakes and are pretty much a straight swap if you get them complete with rotors/calipers/springs etc. There is probably info online about adapting something else onto the original struts.

Is the 180b a P810? Do you have sumitomo calipers?

In Australia the P810 came with 2 versions of strut, the ones with the sumitomo caliper can use a hilux caliper (S12 + 8 usually stamped on the side), they are 4 piston caliper. Then use a DBA425 rotor (this is magna verada in Australia, but you may have an equivalent in NZ.

The calipers are heavy, but still a good cheap upgrade as those calipers are pretty common. That's if you wanna stay with the stock struts.
