What do people want in a NI cruise/meet?

Due to a lack of enthusiasm for this year's Taupo meet, let's see what people out there actually want, so vote away.
My observations would be that;
1 Taupo is always very busy at Labour weekend
2 Taupo is reasonably central for people, with attendees coming from all parts of the island in past years
3 some people from the north like to head down to Akaroa, having a NI meet 6 months apart might increase numbers at both events, we may even get a southerner to the north island one day?
4 NIzfest was a bloody good day out with a lot of the regulars from Taupo cruises there last time, plus a lot more that don't normally come

So speak up and tell us what you would like in a north island event!

As one of the people that travels down to Akaroa I'd be keen to have a NI meet, but it would have to be later. If it was at a different time then who knows, we might even get some SI people to travel up for it!

I think a bunch of southerners would definately be keen on a trip up.
I'm from up that way and enjoy heading back from time to time.

would love to go to Nizfest, but from memory last years one was too close to labour weekend for most southerners to be able to go. (make them change thier date!)

labour weekend always clashes with something or other it seems.

nizfest is on the 5th of november this year i think, so maybe have a meet up then,
and something a cruise/meet closer to summer might be better?

sounds like a plan I reckon Vegie. Virtually nil response from regulars or anyone to this years cruise so let's see what a change of date will do then. Nizfest would be a good start, hopefully I can make it as that is a big speedway meeting in rotorua that night.

yeah, like i said, north islanders are hard to get to commit to much
mind you, a lot that turned up for taupo 2 years back were unexpected, as no posts/replys ,emails or txt's either...

i'll be at nizfest anyway so that gets my vote. Was a good day/weekend last year
