Nizfest 2011

Post by mungyz »

Date and location set for Nizfest 2011

Hampton Downs

5th November

Will post more info as it comes, slight changes in format etc to make improvements but similar costs and prizes, activities etc.
All accommodation at Hampton Downs is reserved for Nizfest, all you need to do is ring them and say your coming to Nizfest and book n pay etc :)

looking at using an online ticketing system to simplify entires for ALL attending, even spectators. Will still be cash on the day entries if there is space.

Check facebook etc for updates and watch for a new thread here :D

Once again thanks to all those who made it last time, we promise to make it better this and every time 8)

you guys should move your date next year lol
as far away from Labour weekend as possible, and I guarantee that you'll get a bunch more Datsun's turn up.

5th Nov is only a couple weeks after the NZ Datsun Nationals down in Akaroa (Canterbury) and a lot of people spend a bit of cash making it there, leaving nothing left after that weekend lol

PS.....Akaroa cruise has been happening the same weekend every year for a lot longer than Nizfest has been going....so it's easier for you to move your date...not us lol

all comments made in light humor.....I'm not having a go at you :dance2:

November was chosen for a few reasons & once you have the mth you then have to work around the dates that the venue is available on.

Unfortunately it is the nature of the beast that no mater what weekend you plan for it wont be ideal for some, there are only a few mths out of the year that you can plan for a better than 50 50 chance of good weather & within those few mths you have multiple clubs running annual events all with barley sustainable numbers.

Personally I try to attend three or four of those events every year on top of the time spent to organise Nizfest, next weekend will see myself & plenty others at Hampton Downs on Saturday and then Taupo on Sunday.
Having events close to each other is par for the course & all it takes is a little planing to make the most of them all ;)
