Hey mate, I think i ended up using shocks for a Ford Escort wagon or something. Was a few years ago but I'll have a look next time I get a chance. They seem to do the trick.

Interesting link. Based on that I'm thinking that the colour looks OK. No deposits or cracks. Definitely not running too rich at any rate.

Got the car driveable with the W53 head in it (Kelford cam, larger valves). Interesting though that the head I took out was an A87 and had the closed combustion chamber as well. I've got it running the standard Nikki single carb at the moment as a temporary measure. Went for a hoon around the street...

Anyone got one of these:
It's the throttle linkage that goes from the firewall across to the carburetor.
