Wiring in a rev counter

Quick question regarding wiring in a factory rev counter. With the ignition wire do I have to cut the wire and join each end of the wire to the rev counter wires so this makes one circuit, or can I just strip the ign wire slightly and solder the rev counter wires on with out cutting the ign wire? So...

Have you tried API in Auckland? they do Thai copy's but are cheap enough

yeah that's it. Am just going to slowly fix it up and put it back to A series.

It's a bit of a pain with the tunnel cut but nothing that cant be fixed

Picked this wagon up last week. Its a rolling body so will start getting bits together for it. Body's in pretty good condition couple of small bits of rust but they should be an easy fix, worst part is the bonnet but already have a replacement for it.
