Re: SR16ve RWD
assuming they're upside down in the pic it looks like the gtir head must have the ports starting at quite a downward angle? Does this match up the the SR16 ports? I know the S13 SR20's ports are quite different to the later ones.

Re: Crap in the tank, possible fixes...
it's probably rust flaking off the inside. The tanks are just plain steel on the inside no coating or anything and they do rust if there is any moisture in there. I had a problem where my petrol tank leaked all through the back of the car, was wondering where the petrol smell was coming from for age...

Re: A series Oval port head and Lightened flywheel
yes the crank is quite hard, but we managed to do it with a high speed steel drill bit in a $20 electric drill from supercheap auto and dowel it using tension pins. All this was done with the car on the trailer in the dark outside out motel room. We got some secondhand bolts from some locals and wer...

Re: A series Oval port head and Lightened flywheel
although it was balanced on my crank, it was 2 grams out on the crank he used. how does that happen? Also agree about the flywheel flange, they should be dowelled if you are going to give it a hard time. My A15 sheared all the flywheel bolts 2.5km into the first stage of a rally once, I was PISSED ...

Re: A series Oval port head and Lightened flywheel
I wouldn't lighten a flywheel and not balance it. Normally when you lighten a flywheel the original balance holes get machined out so you are putting the flywheel out of balance. With/ without crankshaft I'm not sure what you guys mean but if the crankshaft was to be balanced I think they would bala...

Re: Rotary into 1600
Good. Rotary engines are cool in Mazda Rotarys. Nissan have enough good engines to choose from. but hey it's your car.Bartman wrote:The previous owner had begun converting it and given up.....
