Re: Nick's 1200 Coupe

Just my 2 cents..... I would be weary of using the back mount location on the gearbox, it is actually for an exhaust hanger, not a gbox mount. It will put higher stress on the gearbox (compared to the normal mount location) as the whole engine and gbox combo will want to fold in half (as the gbox is...

Re: Garth's SR20 B110

Same as 120ys, ie low beam + parks on first pull (and dip switch kills low beam)

Wicked! That is seriuosly cool.

I really enjoyed the number of old cars (a lot of toyotas) when I visited a couple of years back.

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe

Went for first proper drive today since cert and whatnot. Clicked up nearly 300km heading over to the Wairarapa and down to the south coast. So good having to back on the road!   https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xft1/v/t1.0-9/11206005_10152799766081603_5899177420931653784_n.jpg?oh=a...

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - 99% done....

Depending on your cert man, you may still have issues with the rear travel. I had to make sure it didnt bottom out with people in the back, so unless you have super stiff leafs, I suspect 15mm wont be enough. Did he give you any guidance on what is satisfactory? Worth a shot tho! Like i said, will b...

Lower North Island Meet - Who is keen?

Figured it was about time there was a LNI meet up/finally got my 120y legal. Im Wellington based, and I know there a couple of others who will be keen as well (timing dependant). So whose out there in Wellington, Palmy/Manawatu, Wairarapa etc that would be keen for a meet up? Could figure out a cent...

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe

What I meant was a lot of people seem to have their own ideas about what should and shouldn't pass cert (despite the fact they have not been through the process themselves......) so I very quickly learnt that the only way to find out is talk to the cert person you are going to use. Due to the way th...

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe

Whoa, long time no update. Long storey short I passed cert recheck today, yay! Unfortunately I had to make quite a few changes from how the car was in those pics. Basically it was too low (chasis rails 40-50mm from the ground), and not enough travel in the back. Also had issues with finding a legal ...

Re: Lowering springs 120y b210 struts

I have a pair of trimmed (cut) king springs. They are progressive so the cut part is a near flat piece of spring so still seats nicely. I had no issues with wof's. Have some pics of my car with them installed if you are interested. Would want $100. Cheers
