Nope, no idea idea sorry but good question and worth a dig. Mine has the lock but like the tool hatches, it may well have been retro fitted which is a good idea.
I've seen some with the plastic turn knobs and some with the finger flippers but didn't take notice of the VIN's.

Re: 240znz's HS30 rebuild
There has plenty of debate on the net about the reasons why early HS30's had different components. The US market is the reason it is generally agreed. This is all from memory so don't hang me to dry on this stuff but it will be close to accurate. There are many discussions on CCZC from Alan T who kn...

Re: 240znz's HS30 rebuild
Cheers Vaughan, Those tabs are where the plastic tool covers fix to. One of the quirky features you only find in an early S30. Those tool box lids were not on the car when I got it and haven't been available for decades. Others include the speedo that starts at 20mph, Nissan 2400 OHC rocker cover, c...

Yep, that's the corner you get airborne if you hit the inside curb just right.
I'm there on Sunday so will come over for a catchup.

Re: 240znz's HS30 rebuild
Probably not the place to post this but.... The upholsterer informs me that the headliner that I removed for the car is not Nissan but Ford. So now I am after some close up images of early 240z foam backed headliners so we can find as close a match as possible. If you know of any or similar Nissans ...

Re: 240k for sale
A bit of work there. Love the statement the seller puts "This is an auction - not a forum".
I'm unsure if this is the market rate or not for a 240K in that condition. Looks like a lot of rust to me, no rego either makes me think it will be a costly rebuild.
