Re: Kaikoura Cruise to follow Akaroa. Nov. 19th

Cool...we should be in for Akaroa, but this one sounds sweet too. I know we dropped out last time (had no gas or cash to get some) but it would be sweet to see the area around Waiau, since NZ King Salmon (the company I work for) just bought a new hatchery up there! Who knows, maybe we can scout it o...

Re: NZ Datsun Hanmer cruise. Saturday 20th August

As it stands at the moment, we're a bit too broke to come *pouts*, but I rekon that brakes on the crapola are more urgent than a holiday...since I drive it daily and it won't pass it's WOF without them!

Sorry guys...was really looking forward to a holiday (we soooo need one!)

Re: vehicle history listing?

I thought that there was a way to get that free through the freedom of information act via some sort of transport authority?

vehicle history listing?

Hi, I know I've heard there is some way to check the history of a second hand vehicle in NZ, but does anyone know the link to the website where you can check and what info you need on the car? A mate of mine is looking to buy a second car soon, so I said I'd see what I could find. Always good to kno...

Re: Stupid Question

Don't insure cars that are driven regularly?? what's the purpose of OWNING a car if you aren't going to DRIVE it??? Rofl...it's a CAR it's meant to go places. Talk about oxymoron there. Not to mention, how would they know? what happens if you don't usually drive it often and get insured with them, a...

Re: Stupid Question

That's why I stayed with my current one, we already agreed on the market value, which is a tiny bit more than what I've paid for it ($6000). AA wanted to insure it automatically for $1250! So if she was wrecked I wouldn't even get back what I still owe the finance people! And they wanted to charge m...

Re: Stupid Question

Rofl...omg I didn't care THAT much! Overkill of info there lol. My original point wasn't that of the same car being called different names in different markets, but that different cars by different makers sometimes punked the same name (really, it confused me when I moved to Australia at first, but ...

Re: Stupid Question

Wow, that was really helpful. So she IS a Fairlady...if she lived in Japan. I guess it's sort of like how some cars in america are same name but different maker (only thing coming to mind right now is the Buick Skyline vs the Nissan Skyline here...unless my memory is mixed up).

Stupid Question

I figured this was the place to go to ask, I've seen the "fairlady" referred to a number of times, and when I was talking to the insurance guy on the phone he referred to my 300zx as a "fairlady"...and while I do think she is definitely a fair little lady...I'm wondering what cri...

Re: NZ Datsun Hanmer cruise. Saturday 20th August

Sure, we'll be there...but we'll get our own accommodation for the night (especially since it'll be our 5 year anniversary...or at least close enough to it).

I'm sure all of us cantabrians could use a nice hot soak already!
