Re: Insurance

Interestingly I saw Brad's invoice from Swann yesterday and believe it or not they are tied up with IAG!! What puzzle's me here is that State push anything that does not fit into their low risk boxes straight towards their subsidary 'National Car Insurance' and absolutely no mention of Swann. Cheers...

Re: Insurance

Thanks Guys,
All done and dusted- just over $300 for full cover. Very reasonable.

Insurance

I seem to recall reading something about a 'realistic' insurance company offering insurance for modified cars at fair rates. My son has just bought a 2K Cup car that is now warranted and will be driven on the road occasionally however after talking to State they don't want to know about it- trying t...

Re: B110 Solid Spherical Bearing Top Hats With Nuts

Standard lca's-I assume that you are referring to the lower bottom arms, if so yes of course. I always ran a KYB strut insert that I had the very top of the shaft machined flat so as to be able to hold it from turning while the top nuts were tightened up. What caster/ camber increases just putting t...

Re: B110 Solid Spherical Bearing Top Hats With Nuts

Actually 3.5 degrees is not enough for the race track - I am now running over 4 but just by putting these top hats in alone will give you nothing like that at all- 90% comes from the adjustable rod ends in the bottom arms. Incidently even with that amount of negative camber its never been that hard ...

Re: B110 Solid Spherical Bearing Top Hats With Nuts

Certification not quite my area of expertise but what I can tell you is that they were on my car for a long time and it has always had a current WOF. It is only within the last 6 months that I have changed them.
Might pay to check though.

B110 Solid Spherical Bearing Top Hats With Nuts

These were custom built for me for the SSS some years ago by Paul Hatton- now part owner of Possum Bourne Rallysport. this guy is a legend when it comes to motorsport fabrication. They are offset for caster and camber and with an adjustable bottom arm were good for 3.5 degrees of negative camber and...

Re: my project (datsun 1200 race/rally car)

Scary, very scary!
The important thing is that both of you are okay- thats really all that matters but it sure breaks my heart to see that grouse little car in that state.
Given what you have achieved to date I'm sure you'll have in back stronger than ever in no time.
Good luck.

Re: Ruapuna Track Day 18/06/16

Yes, that's the rebuilt Cooke 5 speed in the car.
It was a new cluster that I had made by Bettanies after it pinged a tooth off 4th gear late last year.

Ruapuna Track Day 18/06/16

Finally sorted this out ( I think ) Anyway for those of you into the sound of an old school A series at full cry - please excuse the first lap between cold tyres, finding neutrals at the hairpin and general driver rustiness...Enjoy. Cheers Dave https://youtu.be/eil4ZEPUeiw" onclick="window...
