Re: Spotted! - Datsuns spotted in the wild photo thread.

You must have an image of every Datsun racing that day just about! Did you get any lap times for any of them? None of the 240's seemed to be going that quickly.......so it would be good to have a look at the lap times if they're posted up anywhere.

The black Tony Marsh 1200 whose is that?

Re: Now Monsta 01's 160j sss

More cubic capacity of course is a good thing. The torque and hp gain L16>L18 would be roughly proportional to the increase in capacity all other things being equal and assuming it wouldn't be then under-carburetted etc. The L20B block is 19.6mm taller (think bonnet clearance) but otherwise a simple...

65 divided by 0.78 for 22% driveline losses (ie 100% less 22% = 78%), divided by 0.67 factor for KW to HP. The numbers aren't exact but it's close enough.

Re: Now Monsta 01's 160j sss

I'd just take it to Ruapuna drags and see what time and speed you do. The weight-shifted time/speed will tell you how much power is reaching the rear wheels, assuming you also know its weight (a weighbridge will tell you). 65RWKW suggests around 125hp at the engine. That is quite good for a 1600 I'd...

Re: Any info on a 1600 510 1968 Ive just aquired

Nice! I know that some '68's had metallic paint originally - I had one with a greeny metallic colour that was definitely the original paint. The dash would be metal not plastic on these (apart from the top pad), strip speedo. I prefer these earlier '68 and '69 dashes as the top pad is lower giving b...
